Future transaction and split it to budget

Hi. I've learning to use YNAB and can't understand how to do that: I have future transaction, for example my yearly insurance payment, and usually I split this amount for each month. If my payment 12k, I store every month 1k for this goal.
But YNAB dosn't show for budget future transaction, only for current month.
What is the best way to solve this?

    • Ben K.  yes, but how I understand, one category - one goal(can't find multiply). In my budget I can have many goals. For insurance example: for my son, for me, for wife, etc.
Should I add sum of goals for category and add future transactions separated?

Sea Green Hammerhead yes, ok if I see, same category but due to different Bill's, there's like 3000 due in April, 4000 due in Sept, then I'd make separate categories.

  • Do you have 12k right now? If so, budget it to your insurance category. If you don't have the 12k right this minute, you don't budget it. This is an envelope budget system, you only budget the money you actually have. So allocate 1k this month to the insurance category (left column). Next month allocate another 1k, etc. The balance will accumulate in the available (right) column. Twelve months from now, you will have 12k saved to pay your insurance.

  • The answer is that YNAB does not allow you to have multiple goals in one category right now. Hopefully this can be fixed at some point.
