To be Budgeted is more than my account balance
Newbie here using YNAB for 4 months with a confusing situation. I've searched in the forum for ideas but haven't really been able to solve why after reconciling all my accounts being tracked, I still have MORE money in "To be Budgeted" than on my available funds in my accounts.
My guess is that since I'm tracking 2 savings accounts this could be the problem but after adding up the amounts on those accounts I then see LESS in "To be Budgeted".
I might have to ask someone at YNAB to take a look but wanted to see if anyone else has run into the confusion of having more in TBB than on checking. and at the same time, less in TBB than on the savings being tracked.

I am having the same problem here. I just migrated over to YNAB and am still in my trial period. I have an overage of 171.60 (extra money to be budgeted) in my "To be budgeted" category and cannot figure out how to remove it. I have manually verified every transaction in my accounts with my existing planning software against my actual checking account and cannot find a way to remove the overage.
If YNAB support requires access, please email me and I would be more than happy to allow it in order to get this resolved so I can focus on the rest of the capabilities YNAB offers. -
Faness I'm still having a problem. When I did my first import the amount $9k was already reflected as a payment in the balance on my credit card, it had not however been removed from my checking account. Upon import into YNAB, because it was still in my checking account, it is reflected in the To Be Budgeted category as an extra $9k. Classifying the payment in my checking account as a payment (transfer from checking to credit) then incorrectly reflects in the balance on my credit card.

How else can i reconcile? There is literally a button in every single account that says Reconcile (top right of your screen when you are in an account register).

Faness , could you help me audit my account? I did a "fresh start", and I went through your instructions in this comment: https://support.youneedabudget.com/r/x1j1l1, and steps #3 and #4 match, but I do not understand what my balance for this month seems so high, and what i need to do going forward. Can you help me out?

Faness This topic has been helpful. My wife and I have gone through the steps you gave earlier in the thread and found a several thousand dollar difference when we added up then compared. We have been digging through transactions and unable to find where things are off. Do you have more details on how to identify what is knocking TBB off balance?

now the TBB is red for January and for all future months it is $172You mean the future is +172 (green)? or they're red as well? It's not possible for future TBB to be greater than the current month.

Thank you all for the input! I'm a new user so am still figuring out many parts of this program. I checked and checked and could not find the source of the problem and everything looked cleared and reconciled. I decided to create a new budget and I deleted my accounts and re-entered them and it instantly fixed the problem. I'm sure I'll have more questions as I keep using it. So glad to find this forum.
