Previewing the impact that future scheduled transactions will have on an account balance?
My current [checking] account has £x in it. I have eleven direct debits due to go out of it over the next week or so. I've set these up as recurring so they're showing in the account as future scheduled transactions.
I know that in the Budget view I can tick the relevant categories and the Inspector on the right will add up the total for me. Then I can manually compare that total with the current account balance to see if I've got enough to cover them all.
What I'm wondering is whether I can do a more direct preview in the Account view. If I'm viewing my current account, can I select the future scheduled transactions in a way that will show their impact on the account balance?

If you install the Toolkit and enable the running balance feature, you will see the future impact of one instance of each recurring scheduled transaction on the account balance. As long as you don't have any scheduled transactions with short frequency (e.g., a weekly transaction that will occur 3 times before a monthly transaction will), this should show you what you're looking for in the way of the account balance over time in the future.

I haven't seen a detailed guide; if I click on settings, a new tab pops up and it looks pretty obvious, except there were a few things I had to set and look at to figure out what they were. FWIW, I'm using Toolkit with Chrome right now; I've had periods when it worked with Firefox and periods when it didn't.
I'd have a hard time working in YNAB without running balances, and it's really nice to turn the angry orange for underfunding into a muted blue. I also like the feature that shows the sum of my scheduled transactions in the current month for each category on the budget page, without having to click the inspector for each individual category.

You can accomplish this within the account view using the checkboxes on the left of each transaction, as YNAB will show you a (sub)total in the upper bar for all transactions you have checked.
I'd first select the uppermost checkbox, to select ALL transactions for the category, then un-check any future/scheduled transactions that you don't want included.
As with the Toolkit's running balance, this only works for the *next* instance for any scheduled recurring transactions (the same caveat Patzer mentions below), but it otherwise should at least mostly do what you're looking for! :)
