Feature Request: Reconcile budget in app!
One of the things that makes the app difficult to use is the fact that I cannot reconcile any account balances if needed. In order to do this on a mobile device I have to follow the following steps:
1. Delete the YNAB app so that when I try to sign into YNAB on the web it doesn’t automatically push me into the app.
2. Reconcile balance in YNAB web.
3. Reinstall the app.
Hey Powder Blue Horse ! As more folks use mobile as their primary (or only!) device, we know that being able to reconcile is important. Our team is currently focused on a mobile app redesign, to help make room in the UI for future improvements and this is one we're hoping to tackle! 😉
Our CPO, Todd did an AMA on Reddit yesterday and had some further insight on reconciliation on mobile, if you're interested in more history there.
Currently, the web app isn't optimized for on mobile devices—so there is a roadblock in place. Some YNABers have success with requesting the desktop site, so you may not have to uninstall the app. We don't recommend to use the web app on mobile, but it may work for you in a pinch!
I will hope that the redesigned app comes out soon then. Apple’s newer iPad OS gives me no option to request the desktop site. Apple claims the desktop sites automatically load within their iPad OS. That is often not the case. But they removed the “Request desktop site” feature from their operation system.
So that basically leaves me no choice but to default to the online web app after deleting the YNAB app, just FYI.
