How do I set a transaction as "Category needed" in the mobile app?

How do I set a transaction as "Category needed" in the mobile app?  This seems easy in the web app but I I'm not seeing it in mobile.

    You can't.  Every transaction should have a category.

    Frankly, allowing you to save a transaction without a category in the web app seems like a weird oversight, not an intended function.

      Vibrant Sometimes I have no idea what my wife just spent money on but I still want it to show in YNAB to make the account balances correct until I can ask her.  I would be furious if they took it away from the web version.

  • I’ve wished to be able to do to mark a transaction as needing attention so i can find it easily when I sit down at the web app. If this is what you’re trying to do, use a category and mark the transaction with a flag.

    • I, too, use flags to mark transactions as needing attention. You can use them on mobile, too, and you can even search by flag color on mobile to quickly find what you need. :)

    If you hit "split" you can remove the main category on mobile. 

    But I would agree that the use case here should be very narrow--I can absolutely see using this as a flag for "need to ask partner about this" but otherwise, the category choice should ideally be made before the money is committed.
