Moving transactions to a different month

I am new to YNAB and used to use EveryDollar. Let's use April and May as months here. In EveryDollar, as the month transitioned from April to May, I sometimes accidentally dragged an amount to the May budget that was supposed to be in the April budget. It was easy to just clear it out in Everydollar and then move the transaction to May. In YNAB I didn't realize that I was in my May budget when I allocated an expense that should have been in the April budget.. so now it looks like  I am over on that debt, but I am actually not. I can't seem to figure out how to re-classify that particular debt into the April budget without deleting  it completely and the screwing with the reconciliation on the account.


Can someone assist?

  • If I'm understanding you correctly, in May, you can move the funds back to To be Budgeted. Then go to April and budget it.
