Reports & Horizontal Scrollbar Should Break Up Already - Wasteful White Space
In the Income v. Expense report, I wanted to see all 8 completed months (Jan to Aug) so I could get a good birds-eye view of my spending. Unfortunately, for whatever reason, the reports pages seem to be in a committed relationship with the horizontal scroll bar. As a result, I can only see five months at a time without scrolling.
I don't want to be labeled as a home-wrecker, but I feel pretty strongly that these two (reports pages & horizontal scroll bar) are not right for each other. They care only about each other, and don't notice how much they inconvenience the people closest to them. They constantly surround themselves with all this wasteful white space as if they're justifying their relationship.
I don't know the underlying mechanism that has created this love affair, but I truly hope someone way smarter than me can figure out how to end this toxic relationship. It would be amazing if I could fit as many months as possible onto one page without scrolling. I'm not asking for dynamic text size or anything to force everything onto one page, but when I see giant cell margins with unused white space, I get very annoyed that I have to scroll in the first place.
My fellow YNAB-ers, do you agree that it's time to find the reports pages a better soulmate than the horizontal scroll bar? 💔
The attached image is my YNAB screen stretched across two 27" 4K monitors (7680x2160). I've tried this in Firefox, Internet Exploder, and Chrome on Windows, and in Safari on my Mac. Each browser displayed similarly to what I have in the attached marked up screenshot.
