  • If we are GSA leaders, can this be used to manage the troops funds or does the 501(c) have to be budgetting related?

RIP_MSMoney We're looking specifically for organizations that are teaching finances and budgeting to those in need. We have a team reviewing applications, so there's no harm in applying to see if your organization will qualify if you aren't sure!

Veronica So if our church has a stewardship ministry which offers Financial Coaching (aka we work with people with their finances), how can this be utilized? In addition we also teach FPU. Typically we ask students to choose either Paper, excel, EveryDollar, Mint, or YNAB. Up to this point they have only gotten 1 month before needing to start paying. Can this be used for those new students or is this offering more for the organization itself as opposed to the people they are working with? Thanks

RIP_MSMoney Right now (and this is very new to us), teaching financial curriculums wouldn't qualify your organization on it's own. If your church can demonstrate outreach and financial education programs for underrepresented or marginalized communities, I'd encourage you to apply.

  • I love this concept, and appreciate what YNAB is doing!
What if we find an organization that we'd like to nominate? I just found out about an organization in Boston that helps teach people to make better decisions and set goals based on brain science stuff. It's a pretty amazing organization, and I think it goes along with YNAB's philosophy of teaching a new way of thinking about something.

    This is the organization: https://www.empathways.org/
