Can someone point me in the right direction?

I have been using EveryDollar, the Dave Ramsey app, to make sure I don't spend too much, and save enough.  I have my budget nailed down, but I need a way to track my variable spending categories (basically groceries and eating out) to unsure that I save enough every month.  All I want to do is to be able to categorize my imported transactions, but YNAB didn't import any transactions.  I don't so much care about what I have in checking or savings, those numbers don't change what I spend.  The money in my accounts doesn't matter to me, I just want to make sure I spend under 800 bucks a month on groceries!  if anyone can point me to a place where this process is described, that would be great.  Thanks, and sorry in advance for my ignorance.

  • Ynab is a forward looking budget so it will import beginning today and any transactions you make in the future

I’m not sure how far back in time it’ll import, but you can back up the account creation transaction and it’ll try to import anything after that.  I don’t remember what the maximum local range is though.  It probably depends on the back, it might only be two weeks or a month.
