Best way to print two reports
I'm over six weeks into YNAB and everything is fairly smooth so far. I want to share two reports with my spouse:
1. What we did last month
2. Our budget and forecast for this month
How do I print these two up to share with her? Especially on #2 I currently don't have enough money to budget for the entire month yet (February) so about half is budgeted and the other half I have it set for "goals" to allocate once we get paid on the 25th.
As far as I know, you can't do #2 (at least not the forecasting part) except for what is already budgeted. But I'd like to be able to see a report that takes what is budgeted, what goals are, and what recurring/future transactions are in the system to fill out the "expected budget". I don't know if they'll provide that functionality, because they really frown on "forecasting" but I would like to be able to see what it looks like for the month, even if I don't have the whole month budgeted.Reply
For #1 you can look at the Income vs expense report. You cannot directly print it, but you can export that report and print it from something like excel.
The only way I know of is to export your budget then again use something like excel to print.
Other than that, there is no direct report that you can print from ynab to share your budget.
Side note, if you and your spouse have google accounts, you can add their google account to ynab for login so they can see it directly. Keep in mind they can see any budgets you have in ynab which has been a issue for many that use YNAB for more than personal budgets.Reply
Hi Erik !
At this time, there isn’t a way to print reports directly from YNAB, but it is possible by using your browser’s print function, although it hasn’t been optimized. Here are some alternatives to printing as well.
We’re also gathering input with this printing questionnaire. It’s 4 questions, so it should only take a few minutes.
Thank you for letting us know this is a feature that's important to you!Reply
