Budgeted amount changing in new month
I have just came across from the desktop YNAB. I am having a problem in that some of my budget amounts, going from January to February are changing without me inputting any data. The changes dont make sense.
I thought all budget values carried over to the next month as they were. I would like to keep my budget set without it changing on me every month. Not sure if this is a bug or something I am doing wrong.
I'm having the same problem! I want the budgeted amount to roll over every month. For example, I created a budget for all 25 things I spend money on. My cable bill is always $150, my car payment is always $250, etc. This doesn't change every month. Do I have to literally re-do each budgeted amount every month? Seems silly.
I messaged YNAB to get an answer and they said this:
That's a great question. It's a new month, and it's time for a new budget, so all your Budgeted values will be set back to $0. You can budget category-by-category, or you can use the Quick Budget options on the right-hand sidebar!
Under Quick Budget, there is an option called Budgeted Last Month. Since some budgeted amounts just don’t change, you can use this option to budget the same amount as the previous month, while all categories are selected, or just some!
