Debt reduction planning

I've been using YNAB for just a couple weeks now and I love it.  The web site offers great resources for learning budgeting concepts and for reducing debt; for example, attacking the lowest balance debt first and then moving to the next.  I think a nice feature YNAB could add would be a graphical view of debt reduction.  Setting a goal to pay off a debt by a certain timeframe and seeing how much to budget per month is great..."seeing" a visual of that debt disappearing would be really motivating.

  • Hey  Coral Violin !!

We love hearing that you're enjoying YNAB so far! :)

A big part of budgeting is being able to give dollars a job for a better financial future and tackling debt is definitely included. Some users prefer to add debt as Tracking accounts for exactly that reason - to see that debt disappearing.

However, there's pros and cons to tracking debt that way, so I'll pass this along as a feature request.

We actually have a real list where we tally up all the feature requests. Then, our Design team walks through them in our regular research cycles to determine what’s next in YNAB.

Thanks for sharing your ideas with us!
