  • Currently, you share your username/password. You don't need to pay the fee twice, and you can potentially have multiple budgets (some for you, some for your husband) if needed.

  • Hi Steel Blue Admiral !

Ben is absolutely right! No need to pay twice and you'll just share your log in credentials (you can both download the mobile app, and log in on your mobile devices).

If you haven't already, take a look at our Join Forces Guide for tips on sharing a budget with a partner. :)

just share your log in credentials

This is a major "yikes!" for me.  Any hope of a proper sharing feature in the future?

Tan Pony the Google authentication option might help. Here's the article from when they released it: https://www.youneedabudget.com/google-single-sign-on-for-ynab-no-password-required/

I don't use it (no need for it) so I don't know how/how well it works

Tan Pony there's also a "family budget" API that might be useful (it allows more granular access control to the web app) & can be found here (along with some others):

If you’d like to share your YNAB budget without sharing your password, you can connect two different Google logins through My Account

Chrissy Do you know if this feature was removed at some point? I realize your post is from a while back but I wasn't able to find a spot for this in my account settings.

    • Steph Jumping in for Chrissy on this one. :) You can still definitely add two different Google Logins! You'll need to sign in on the web app. In your Account Settings, look for a button that says, "Continue with Google."
