Sync issue outside US
When you're outside of US, banking syncing with YNAB is an issue, there is not many option.
90% of my transactions are done with my cards and I don't want to loose my time entering the transactions manually in YNAB.
My banks have no API.
My approach until now is to download the bank statements from my Bank, Credit Card and Joint Account then convert it to YNAB CSV and import it, but I can't do it regularly and that's not the best approach to use YNAB. It's exactly what this person described.
Then I thought that I can IFTTT something and I found that Monzo is one the best option to do that (someone talked about it in YNAB forum) but Monzo is not in Switzerland.
The only solution I can see is to create a bank account with a fintech because they often have an API or IFTTT integration :
- Starling is not in Switzerland.
- n26 just arrived in Switzerland but they don't have IFTTT nor Zapier and no API obviously but someone has find a way to call the API.
Revolut is interesting and is in Switzerland but it's not clear if there is an API for the personal account, it's seems only available for business. If it's possible, I'm thinking of using the Revolut Open Banking API and write some code to sync it with YNAB. I could possibly create a Revolut business account but it costs 9$/month for a freelancer and I don't think it's a good idea.
Sync for YNAB is trying to solve this problem but I prefer to control what I'm doing.
Did I miss something? Is there a better a solution?
