Lightest way to get server_knowledge for a budget

Hello,

to know if there’ve been updates in a user budget since the last time my app was used I’m using the server_knowledge number.

As far as I can see there’s no specific endpoint to get this. In order to avoid receiving data I’ll not use and save network bandwith, I’m using the get accounts list endpoint with ?last_knowledge_of_server=999999999. This way I get an empty array of data and the server_knowledge number.

Is there a better way to obtain this number? Otherwise, it might be added to get user call. It’d be a way to validate the access token is valid and get the server_knowledge easily.

Thanks and regards!

David

  • David Hernando There isn't an endpoint to just get the latest server_knowledge in isolation.  Since it is specific to a budget it, adding it to the `/user` endpoint wouldn't work unless we included an array of budgets along with the knowledge.  Honestly, passing in last_knowledge_of_server=999999999 like you're doing will work just fine and is very fast on our side.  Yes, it's a bit clunky but should work for you.  I've give this some thought and possibly add an item for improvement in this area. Thanks!

    • Thanks Brady for your answer. I’ll use last_knowledge_of_server=999999999 in my app.

      regards!
