How can you remove the "top-level" category from the category display on the budget page?

On desktop and mobile, the top level category often fills the category screen and makes the actual category difficult to see.

Is there anyway to prevent that from showing?

  • That's weird. I've never seen that before and can't even figure out how to turn it on. My top levels all show as separate lines on both mobile and web.

  • Is that on the category screen or the register/account screen? That's how things show up in my register/account screen, and considering you have "uncategorized" under the one you've highlighted, I think that's the screen you're looking at, vs. the budget screen (that has the list of categories by group and the assigned/activity/available columns).

I don't know how to remove that from the register, but I've found zooming out to be helpful in seeing the full category. I look at the web on 67% magnification, which is my sweet spot between not being able to read it and having most of what I need visible on screen.

  • You can also resize the columns at least on the web, I don't know for mobile. In the header, drag the column separators (|).

  • And you can collapse the left-hand menu with the symbol at the bottom of the screen.

  • Hey Gold Flute ! It's not possible to remove the category group from that display in your account register, but I think you make a great point. Are you up for submitting a Feature Request?

As Ceeses mentioned, you can do a few things to change the appearance of your budget to get more screen real estate. The Help Doc shows you what that looks like. I'm a fan of collapsing the sidebar!
