Checkbook Woes

bad days coming. i have been working since 2 years now for a company and have a proper bank account but my bank is not issueing me a printed check book. I have asked them what is the reason so they told me that i am not eligible for it yet. Can i consult online stores like [Link Removed]  and others for my wish?

  • Hey Tomato Drum !

I moved your post to a separate discussion to hopefully gain more traction! :)

Even though your bank is not providing you with a checkbook, most banks will still give you the offer to buy a checkbook separately. I'd check with them first and ask if they suggest any specific companies if they aren't willing to print a checkbook for you. There are legitimate stores on line where you can purchase a checkbook, but the link you provided may not be the best option.

  • What is the reason  they give for “not eligible”. Will they process checks if you purchase them elsewhere? If so, I have always bought my checks on line (no longer because I use USAA and they give me free checks). Just be sure to use someone who has been around for awhile so you know it’s not a scam. In the past, I’ve used Current and Vista Print. I’ve never used reecoupons so I can’t give an opinion on that site.

  • Just out of curiosity what bank is this? Do they offer a link to purchase checks on their website?

Are they trying to encourage using electronic payments instead?  In Canada, I haven't written a cheque in AGES.  I'm not even sure I could find my cheque book.  The only person I have written one to lately is my mother since she won't do online banking.

Ruff16965 (05bd62cee897) Uh...what? I've opened at least three checking accounts online in the last year and funded them via ACH from an existing account. The only reason I ordered checks for my primary account is because I needed a voided check for my direct deposit form at work.

Ruff16965 (05bd62cee897) I have also opened accounts online with no paper check submitted.

Patzer Good point. I see the OP hasn't resurfaced in a week. I didn't -- and have no need to -- click the link, but it could very well be there as click-bait of sorts.

Patzer This was originally a comment in another thread and the OP was accused of being a spammer. OP actually replied to that comment and said no I'm not!

jenmas Yet now those posts are gone. This is the only post on this user's account. Faness at YNAB I'd mark this as spam and move on.

WordTenor I think that Faness at YNAB was the one who removed those posts by creating this new thread. I'm not saying this person isn't a spammer, but I'm pretty sure OP didn't create this thread.

jenmas  More reasons why having people who aren't used to being on a forum running a forum is less than helpful...we needed to keep this in context if the person really did say they weren't a spammer.

This one has way too many spam/NLP generated markers for me.  Also, yet again I find myself annoyed by the default naming system on this software.  One way to ID spammers on the other board  is by the fact that they always end up being  JOEHAMMERSMITH  or something like that.

      WordTenor no doubt.

    • Hey WordTenor , jenmas is right - I created the new thread for the user. The issue was that the Forum duplicated the question and OP's not spam comment if I left it included. It's been a while, so I'm not sure the OP will resurface, but I do think it's a good thread topic in case anyone else is looking for checking alternatives or advice.

  • How strange! Unless by 'not eligible' you mean that the checks are not free; that is pretty common now. You can order them through a third party for much less; just be sure the checks include standard security features. Nerd Wallet has a good wrap-up of options: https://www.nerdwallet.com/blog/banking/cheap-personal-checks/
