Cannot use File Import in iPadOS Safari web app
Despite Safari on iPadOS being fully compatible with the desktop version of Safari, I'm having an issue trying to use File Import on the YNAB web app on the iPad. While I know it's not directly supported, I was hopeful it'd work with the new iPadOS.
The issue is that I cannot select the QFX file I download from my back for import into YNAB. When I try to via Browse, the QFX file shows grayed out, almost as though either YNAB or Safari isn't letting me choose QFX files for upload.
Is this a YNAB restriction that can be fixed, or something to do with Safari on iPad? Thank you!
Hi there. I am having this exact issue as well. Recently Discover has not been importing to YNAB with no resolution time and because of this I was hoping to do a dump import from a file instead of individuals transaction add. I hope you guys can add this feature soon! Thanks for creating such an awesome budgeting app!
Hi all! Sorry I missed updating this thread!
We've looked into File Based Importing on mobile and Safari isn't able to recognize certain file types - like CSV files. That's why they appear greyed out in the file selection.
However, if you're on a device that allows for a split view (such as an iPad Pro), the drag and drop function is still available for file based importing!
We plan to take a closer look at this in the future, but since this is a limitation created by Safari we aren't sure we'll be able to change this behavior.
If you have any questions about this, please don't hesitate to ask! :)
