Ally CashBack Rewards Card Direct Import
I track my bank accounts for Ally Bank in YNAB, but I just got their credit card. Is there any way to add direct download for this? I'm not finding a way to link it at this time. Thanks.
Hi Mike Doherty !
When a new account gets added to an existing connection, things can sometimes get a little stuck. To get everything showing up properly, just remove and re-add the connection. It’s different than disconnecting the connection (or deleting the account - which we don’t advise!), and it seems to do the trick!
Here's how to remove the connection:
1. Select your budget name in the top left-hand corner and choose Manage Connections from the drop-down menu.
2. Then Remove the connection(s) to this financial institution, confirm removal and select Done.
Then you’ll reconnect your account(s) to a fresh connection:
3. Hover over the existing account(in the left sidebar) and click on the edit icon.
4. Select Connect to Bank > Add a Connection. Search for the financial institution, and follow the prompts.
All of your accounts, including the new one, should now be listed. :)Reply
Hello and thanks for your reply. I understand what you are asking me to do, and I've tried that both now and in the past. The issue I am having is that my credit card isn't showing up as an option even after doing that. Are credit cards from Ally even supported via Direct Import with YNAB? Thanks.Reply
Hi Mike Doherty
I'm sorry for the back and forth here! The Ally CashBack CC has a special handling, correct? As in, you're brought through into another website in order to see the online banking for it?
After months of wrestling with the platform that handles the Ally CashBack CC, our Direct Import partner learned that they are currently blocking access from third-party data providers, which means our Direct Import partner is unable to support the connection at this time. It's possible they will be able to re-establish integration in the future (we hope they will!), but we aren't able to guarantee if or when that might happen.
I know this isn’t the news you were hoping for. It's certainly not news we enjoy sharing, either. We know what a big deciding factor Direct Import plays when it comes to subscribing (or continuing to subscribe) and very much dislike letting you down.
If you haven’t already, I do hope you'll give File-Based Importing in the web app a try! This allows you to get transactions entered in bulk in one of two ways:
1. The handy dandy drag and drop method.
2. Selecting “All Accounts” and hitting Import from there.
Let me know if you have any questions. I'm happy to help however I can!Reply
Ally has a separate URL for their credit card log in-- yes you can access it via your regular bank log in, but there is a seperate page for viewing JUST your credit card. Is it possible to update the direct import to use that URL for log in?
Being able to import my CC transactions would be a game changer for YNAB.Reply
