Delete Category

I've reviewed the topic on your new change to DELETING CATEGORIES.   Got it.   So I removed all funds, transactions & history associated with a CATEGORY and am still unable to delete.  What am I doing wrong?

    If all transactions have been recategorized and all funds have been removed from the Budgeted column in all past months, you should be able to delete that category. We recommend renaming or hiding categories instead of deleting them, but if you still aren't able to delete it we'd be more than happy to take a closer look at things for you!

  • Thank you.  Am impressed with YNAB support.  I figured out a work-around.  I was able to  delete the category on my iPad and it carried over to my Mac desktop.   But I wish you guys would have left it alone!

  • I agree, the category *should* be able to be deleted after deleting all transactions, but it it would not delete.  You got a bug.  As I stated above, I had to go to my iPad to delete the category.  YNAB was absolutely perfect before you guys went and had to make this change.  Now you got a bug.  Cheers!
