Coming Soon: Money Moves!🕺
Moving money is the secret sauce of YNAB and core to Rule Three: Roll With The Punches.
We want to make it easier to learn from those moves and easier to communicate with a partner about those moves (read: no more hiding that money you moved from your partner's fun money and into yours)!
Soon, you will be able to see a history of movements between categories! 🎉
Like other releases, we’re using a phased approach, so if you don't see this feature in your budget quite yet, don't fret! We'll be sure to announce it loud and clear when it's available to all YNAB-ers. And in the meantime, check out our Money Moves article for a sneak peak at how Money Moves will look in your budget!
We're really loving how this feature gives us exactly the information we're looking for when we're looking for it, but mostly stays out of the way otherwise.

Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes!!!! This is one thing that has driven me crazy since I first started using YNAB. I tried keeping track of movements myself in a notebook with sections for each month. Just recently I started a Word document to record every money move, so I could remember when or where I moved money!!

My girlfriend seems to have this feature, but its not showing up yet on my page. Is there something I need to enable or select?

Lincoln24 have you moved any money since it rolled out? it only works on a go forward basis.

Herman I do not think it has rolled out to everyone yet, it is not active on mine either. I just did a test move to confirm it is not working.
Also the documentation I read indicates the history is only valid for the last 34 days so if you need to track longer than that you should put a note in the categories themselves.

A few times a year I do an accidental "money move" and usually don't notice it until a week or two later. If there's been other moves during that time, it hasn't been the easiest for me to reverse-engineer what I borked up. This new feature should help with that!!!

It would be awesome if you had the option to exclude TBB to another category and vice versa. I do not consider budgeting $$ from TBB as "moving money", only category to category movement.

Doug Until you mash the wrong number somewhere in the budged column (or wrong category). Then you (at least I) will want to see the move when you notice something is wrong in the next few days or weeks.

glynab I tend to agree. I prefer to see the TBB->Grouping moves at the beginning of the month and then rest of moves after that. I could see it flooding others history if not "one month ahead" but honestly I still find this information rather important to know and see.
