Navient connection issues

Hello,

 

I started receiving a request from my linked Navient accounts, yesterday, to log in and reauthorize my credentials.  Every time I try to log in I get the "wrong credentials" error...  Any idea what's happening here?  Is this related to the OAuth issues like CapOne?

 

I'm able to log in normally on the Navient website so I know it's not the login that's the issue.

  • Because financial institutions report data for investment and loan accounts differently than that of checking/savings/credit card accounts, they’ve always proven difficult when it comes to connecting and importing transactions. Even if an initial connection is able to be established, it's expected that investment/loan accounts will not import anything correctly beyond the initial balance.

    The good news is that because these are typically set up as Tracking accounts, their dollars aren’t included in your categories and therefore won’t affect your daily spending decisions. We certainly understand the motivation for tracking your net worth though, so here’s a simple way to manage these accounts without direct import:

    1. Set up the account as an unlinked Tracking account, if you haven't already (Tracking > Asset or Liability).
    2. Create a Scheduled Transaction to show your regular contributions or payments. (If your financial institution offers file exporting, you can also use our File-Based Importing feature in the web app.)
    3. Update the account balance like this as it changes, or as frequently as you’d like.

  • Matthew I don't have an issue with how the reporting is done - but I think your answer is a poor resolution.  YNAB had a working connection with Navient, so I would like to maintain that connection.  Telling me to just unlink doesn't solve the issue - it just circumvents it.

    • Orchid Pony Sorry for the trouble! If you report a Bank Importing Issue our Direct Import Team can take a closer look at that connection to see if they can get it back up and running. We just want to be upfront that once it is up and running, there's a possibility the transactions could import in reverse (or not at all). Our Direct Import Team can go over those details with you if it comes to that. :)

  • I have had the same issue in the last week logging into Navient.  It was working, then suddenly my credentials are incorrect.  I have checked the credentials, they are correct, and I can log into the Navient website with them.  It's like something between YNAB and Navient stopped talking.  I gave up on my CapitalOne account.
