nYNAB localization ?

Is there any plan for YNAB to be in several different languages ? It could be confortable for those who aren't that fluent in english.

Financial terms can leave us speechless sometimes.

If so, you can't count me in for french 馃嚥馃嚝

Did you mean "can" or "can't"? It seems weird you are singling out French with a "can't".

  • Hi Greg ! As much as we'd love to get the whole world on a budget, we lack the resources in our small team to manage the complexities of translation to any other language at this time.

The overall hold up isn't just the software, but the educational and support aspects. If we have the software in different languages, people also expect us to have support material and email support in that language as well.

As we grow, we may explore localization into other languages, but time will tell. Google translate (or a similar tool) can be incredibly powerful when you're browsing the documentation!

Nicole That's what i thought as well. I agree that if you start translating something you have to do it all. There could be some kind of prioritization and whatnots.

    • Hi Greg !

If we were to take on translating YNAB, we'd want to make sure to do it right! That being said, it isn't on our roadmap for the immediate future.

We do have a few suggestions to make navigating YNAB easier, because we think it鈥檚 possible to use YNAB in a different language. Such as Customizing categories to be in a native language, and changing the currency to the local currency. While these may seem like small changes, they can make a budget seem less out of place for any language. :)
