STRUGGLING newbie

I've done a few workshops and messed around on the YNAB website and I am still very confused. I'm probably not as tech savvy as I need to be, and I am also brand new to budgeting. I need a YNAB for Dummies step by step instruction sheet on how to set up the budget and follow along---I'm talking VERY basic. HELP?

  • Hi Powder Blue Yearling  !

The Ultimate Get Started Guide that dakinemaui shared is a great resource! I know you mentioned attending our workshops, but what about workshop recordings so you can pause or re-watch at your own speed? If you're having trouble with a certain area, we'd be more than happy to walk through it with you! :)

The YNAB book helped me the most. It doesn't go over the app. It explains the thinking of YNAB. If you can't find a copy of the book, then follow the link in my tagline to a list of YNAB articles that mirror the book. Enjoy!

P.S. I created the list of links about a year ago. They all still work, but the links to the rules now all go to one page with all the rules. So, read the link to see which rule to focus on at that time.

  • I highly recommend Nick True's YouTube videos for those just starting out. YNAB's resources are wonderful and you should start there, but Nick True's videos felt more "real life" to me and really helped me understand the system!
