IOS apps no longer do Payee look up when entering new transactions. The list of payees is long and not sorted. I have enter it again, &again

    • Brad Hull Thanks for reaching out about this. Quickly, it looks like you typed the original message in the TITLE of the post and not the body. But that's ok, I think I get the gist of it!

      It sounds like when you search for a payee by beginning to type the name, it doesn't filter to find it? For example, if you already have a payee for "Amazon", typing in "Amaz" doesn't find you the right payee, correct? It's just a long list?

      If so, could you try and perform a complete uninstall and reinstall of your mobile app? And let us know if that does anything to resolve the issue. Thanks!!

      You understand my complaint, except that I am having the problem using the web YNAB app in the latest version of the Chrome browser in the latest version of Windows 10. I have both an iPhone 6 & an iPad Pro, but I will check to see if I have the complaint on them and let you know.

      Brad Hull  I am having problems with using the “new” support forums. 

      Please change the “CSS” to provide more contrast PLEASE!

      I cannot see borders of the response dialogue boxes and have trouble seeing light blue or light gray texts and numbers.

      I was and still am having the problem of payee lookup NOT matching anything that is in the historical list, it will suggest payees that have the first few letters the same that entered in the last few days since this problem started.

      If I try to edit payees then almost all the payees in the historical list are grayed out AND unselectable. The only available choice is to select all which accomplishes nothing because I have several  hundred payees! I guess I could delete all the existing payees but then I suspect the result would be thousands of transactions with no payee at all!

      I am having this problem with web YNAB and the IOS iPhone app and the IOS iPad app.

      I am not having this problem with YNAB4 or either of the IOS classical YNAB apps.

      Yes, I have uninstalled and reinstalled both of the IOS apps for the (new) YNAB app to no avail!

      Will you please help me? I suspect that my data file is corrupt. What do you think?

      The above same problems occurs with all my web YNAB budgets.

    My taxes are done and my wife’s first, of two, cataract surgeries are going well. So I will try to get back to analyzing the fix that I apparently solved the auto search disfunction that I was experiencing last month. But, after my editing the payee list it no longer automatically fills in almost no categories. Apparently I removed almost all the previous assignments.
