  • They will not import until Capital One has cleared them and moved them out of pending status. Given that yesterday was a bank holiday, I would expect the transactions to possibly clear today, but tomorrow might be more likely.

This is the reason that manual entry is supposed to be your primary method of data entry with import being a back up/double check. Let's say you went to the grocery store in Saturday and had a category balance of $60 and spent $45. Until that transaction imports, your category balance is still going to say $60. What if you go to the store tonight and spend $20 and the transaction isn't ready to import until late tonight. You have now overspent the category by $5 because you forgot that you spent $45 on Saturday.

Navy Blue Pegasus you're supposed to match the transactions as they import. Someone else will have to explain how to do that as I do 100% manual entry.

    • jenmas Thanks - they are indeed listed as pending, so I will wait until tomorrow to reconcile.

Navy Blue Pegasus If the amount is the same (and the dates within about 10 days), a subsequent import should match the manually entered transaction (no duplicate). If the amount is not the same you can manually match (using the bank's value).

If nothing else, knowing the amounts didn't match is a good way to potentially detect whether a restaurant arranged for an "extra" tip without your knowledge.

  • Hi Navy Blue Pegasus ! jenmas is right on target here. With the bank holiday yesterday, it's likely that transactions cleared this morning, will import tomorrow. I'm going to move this over to our Bank Import section for a better fit!

If you have transactions you know have cleared your Capital One accounts over 24 hours ago, but they are not available to import, try following these steps to remove the connection and re-link the account. If you have other accounts associated with that connection, be sure to reconnect those, too!

Give it a day and see if you're able to import new transactions. If transactions still aren’t importing, let us know, so we can work with our import partner to figure out what’s going on. 🙂
