Spending report

I only use iPhone and iPad. Is there any way of viewing monthly spending by category on these devices? It’s critical really to get full utility of the system.

  • Hi Spring Green Packet !

Thanks for reaching out about this! Currently we only offer "Age of Money" and "Net Worth" for Reports on the mobile app. We won't stop working on improvements though, so I can definitely pass along this as a feature request!

Or, you could submit your idea via the Feature Request Form! From there it's collected in a database, and just about every day, our Design Team combs through and codes them all, asking questions like Where is this person in their budgeting journey? What problem are they wanting to solve? Then, in regular research cycles they analyze all this collected feedback to plan for what’s up next  in YNAB!

  • I totally agree. More reports in general, and all of them should be available on the mobile app as well! One thing that bugs me about the mobile versions of the reports is that they're so basic. I'd love more detail, or at least the option to dive into the details more. Also the Income/Expenses report should definitely also be available on mobile, that's one that's super powerful to have on hand.

Aric income/expense should absolutely be included in the mobile app.  I used the request form yesterday for this actually.  Glad I’m not the only one who wants it.  Send in a formal request.  The more the better.

  • I too am an iOS only user and recently switched from Mvelopes because its reporting was severely lacking on mobile devices. I’m sorry to find out YNAB is no better. Can’t we at least get the same reports that are on the web version?  I believe there will be more “mobile only” users as tablet technology improves.

Alice Blue Tape  I agree.  I actually sent in an official request for the income/expense report being included on the mobile app yesterday.  I recommend everyone that wants it so the same:  let’s be heard so they’re motivated to add it!

  • Hi, what is the status of this issue atm? Are we soon going to get this?

    • Hi Marp !

Adding more reports to the mobile app is definitely on the team’s radar for future development. At this point—as we budget our limited development resources toward a visual redesign of the mobile app and continued improvements to the web app—adding more reports hasn’t made it onto our short term roadmap. It is something we plan to revisit after the redesign, but I want to be up-front and let you know that you shouldn’t expect to see it soon on mobile.
