Bulk update when values have changed

When using the bulk endpoint, it would be amazing if transactions would update if we passed different values in. For example, when importing foreign transactions, the amount can change once the transaction has settled compared to when it was first created.

  • Scott Robertson We'll be introducing a change to the /budgets/:id/transactions endpoint soon that will allow POSTing multiple transactions.  It will behave much like the /budgets/:id/transactions/bulk endpoint but be a bit more congruent with REST design.  This might be a good place for a PUT method on that same endpoint to allow updates to existing transactions, in bulk form.  I'll add this to our list - I think it's a good idea!

  • Scott Robertson I understand a bulk update would be useful but in the meantime are you able to update them one at a time through the PUT /budgets/{budget_id}/transactions/{transaction_id} endpoint?

Brady Could do, but i would hammer through the rate limits pretty quickly for some situations. But i should be able to limit that as much as i can :)

  • A new PATCH /budgets/:id/transactions endpoint has been added that allows multiple transactions to be updated at the same time.  Also, you can specify the id or the import_id when updating them, so if you only know the original import_id from your client, that could be used.  This should support your scenario Scott Robertson .
