A greater clarity on my finance

I had the book in my Kindle for more than a year and with the extra time I have home, I read it in one go.  I opened a YNAB and added all my accounts, the good the bad and the ugly.

I  am now much more clarity about my finance. But now I have a game plan to manage it... With a budget.

Great experience so far, managed to plan expenses, set aside money and plan for future expenses. That is just a great feeling.

  • That is awesome!  Great to hear that you've got it all set up, and already feeling more in control.  It's a total game changer, and especially since you read the book, and have a good understanding of the principles, and what the rules mean, I have no doubt you'll go far with this.

Bruce Thank you Bruce, the support of YNAB and user community is great. Everyone in here is very supportive and understanding. That makes the process so  much easier. I will teach YNAB to my brother, he has a similar money profile. My mother has outstanding money skills and she tried as a parent to pass it on to us, to no avail. Now I am committed, ready to tackle a big pile of Debt... and it seems very manageable.

Alemap Thank you for your encouragement. That s my intention, stick to the plan. At the moment, due to pandemic i am in a different country at my brothers . It was kind of a great time to review bank statements, reports etc and remove unnecessary expenses. I made an estimated saving of around 966 euro per year, just by shuffling things around, cancelling subscription en Amex membership.  I just needed the courage to look, the money is there every month... I have just been very careless with it... Over last 2,5 years, almost 9000 euro of Dining out...😬

Nicole Thank you Nicole very much appreciated. YNAB is very a game changer... and it makes total sense. I was using only a money management tool like Mint , but past transactions never give a clear path and game plan for the future. Looking at the transactions, clear patterns  emerged and I know which parts to  focus on to reduce expense. Already cancelled my Amex card, another CC  is planned to be cancelled at the end of the summer. :))
