Quick stupid question here. Can anyone tell me what the red number here next to "budget" is and what it means? Thanks!

It's the sum of all your on budget accounts.

You also don't want it negative. You should reduce your budgeted categories until that number is $0. That is Rule Number One of YNAB. Give every dollar a job (but no more!)

Superbone that's their account totals in the sidebar, not their TBB amount. It's red because they have more debt than cash. 😉

Superbone Vibrant Unfortunately that debt is left over from a root canal I had to have done back in November that I couldn't put off any longer due to pain issues-hopefully I can knock most of it out this month!
