Start of the week - Bug
Can you please implement the correct functionality for start of the week depending upon locale.
UK starts the week on a Monday.
It's very jarring using an interface where you have to double take what you are looking at.
I'm also in the UK and I'm old enough to remember being taught that the week started on a Sunday followed by years of endless arguments about the Sunday/Monday thing so I don't find it jarring to just get used to individual sites.
That said, you do find it jarring so I went to look at the Toolkit to see if this was something you can change in there and you can. There is a Modify First Day of the Week option in the Account tab and you can change it to whatever day of the week you want.
Just an option if you want to change it now rather than waiting for YNAB to do it themselves. I doubt it's their highest priority.
If your first thought is 'what's the Toolkit?' then I hope someone will come along and explain it better but it's an extension that makes YNAB more customisable.
I must admit (I am in the UK) I always understood Sunday to be technically the first day of the calendar week following Jewish and Christian tradition - and a quick web search supports this understanding. So I can see why locale for the UK uses Sunday.
However, I do get that Monday is the start of the secular week so I quite understand why in practice it may be different for an individual and I am all for choice
Dela hey there. I would say that YNAB should look at everything in the YNAB toolkit and assume people want it.
I don't know about that. The Toolkit has a heap of options. On one hand options are good, but imagine a new user being presented with the array of options the Toolkit has, they'd be overwhelmed.
