Spending vs income

Let's suppose I have $3,000 a month income and have entered all my bills and all my non monthly bills to my budget. Is there a way to see how much I "budgeted" vs my income? Or do I just add up one thing at a time?

I wound up setting up amounts to save and pay for in the future but it is more than I typically make. Not sure how to change that around.

  • on the right panel of the budget (with no categories selected) you should see an "Available in {month}" section, if you open this section up, there's a line "Assigned in {month}" That should be what you're looking for.

For the other question, you either change the target amount you've set, or extend the time horizon.  Or get an extra job.  Or else assign as much as you can up until you've assigned everything, and then stop.  Some of the lower prioirity categories may get missed.  you can catch them up later.

  • Mr. Ed Hi there! When you say you've entered all your bills/non-monthly bills, do you mean that you've set targets on your categories, or actually assigned money to your categories?

It sounds like you might be looking for information that "Underfunded" may be able to provide! If you scroll ahead to a month with no funds yet assigned, you'll see an underfunded amount that will give you an idea of what you'd need to fund all of your targets.

I hope that helps, but let us know if this doesn't quite get you where you're hoping to go!
