Monthly Spending Goal : How is it supposed to behave ?
Hello all :)
I've set a goal for anything house related (cleaning, small stuff etc). I'd like to have 200€ avalaible each month.
The images shown for December says that 102.25€ remain to be spent. I know i won't spend it in the coming 24 hours, so, if i understand it well, this remaining amount will go toward the January budget.
This is where i'm getting lost :
- Why does the money i spent on December (97.75€) goes in the "Budgeted" cell in January 2020 (and not the remaining money from december 102.25€)
- The Budgeted cell needs 102.75€ to fullfill the goal of 200€ for the month. If i add that amount, the Avalaible cell goes to 302.25€ and goes green.
==> How can I only add 97.75 to the money i didnt spend on december to meet a gree 200€ in January ?
Hope i was clear enough, don't hesitate to ask questions.
This goal is contrary to all other operations in the YNAB budget where the "present" is simply -- and consistently -- the currently displayed month.
Citing confusion by new users as the reason to tie this goal to the passage of time in the real world, they have introduced confusion by those same users wondering why the goal doesn't make any sense today.
That linked post suggests similar behavior is in store in the future, with other features not working until you wait long enough.
