Web update of 8/14/18 broke Toolkit.

As described.  Please revise updates to play nice with Toolkit.  Alternatively, I'd be fine with YNAB incorporating all Toolkit features into the base product.  It really does a whole bunch of user interface stuff that ought to be part of the base product.

  • Never mind.  The Toolkit folks fixed it on their side.  Still . . . it kind of sucks that key features can be disabled by routine upgrades of the base product.

Patzer I'm not seeing it as fixed... I've gone into the toolkit and made sure everything I wanted was still checked off. Did you do something else to make it work again?

Toolkit release 2.8.6 fixed it.  If the Toolkit plugin hasn't automatically updated to there, you'll want to force it to update.

Edit to add:  It might also be necessary to close and restart Chrome; I did that, but a bunch of other stuff was going on and I don't know for sure that it's required.

  • We actually don't support the Toolkit - it's ran by a separate group of amazing people. Thankfully, they're usually pretty quick to iron these types of things out! :)

I understand that YNAB does not support the Toolkit.  However, a substantial number of YNAB users rely on the Toolkit for critical functionality that YNAB has chosen not to include with the base product.  It would behoove YNAB to acknowledge this and make an effort not to break the Toolkit's critical functions when rolling out an upgrade that fixes a few fairly minor bugs.

I could live forever with having to reset my filters after a search (one of the things today's release notes says was fixed.)  I would abandon web YNAB entirely if all the Toolkit functions became permanently unavailable.  Toolkit just fixes too many things that YNAB declines to fix.

    • Patzer We actually have no way of knowing what updates will or won't interfere with the Toolkit. Some updates are seamless, while others cause a few hiccups. We don't intentionally break things, but we understand some users love the Toolkit and we appreciate the Toolkit developers being so speedy in their updates!

    • Herman Thank you for the support! We're hopeful the Toolkit developers will continue to be as wonderful as they are and keep up with the updates we have in store. ;)
