Import sync not happening

Hi Team,

For 2-3 days now, my app via Mac (Sierra 10.12.6) or iPhone 8 (iOS 11.2.5) isn't importing transactions for my accounts. Is anyone else experiencing this bug, or is it just me? Thanks for looking into it!

  • Hey there!

Thanks for reporting this! This sounds like a direct import issue rather than a bug, so I'm going to move this over to our Direct Importing category.

We’ll need to dig in a little deeper here, so I’m going to reach out to you via email to start the troubleshooting process!

Faness I wish this had not been marked "answered" when it's an ongoing issue.

  • Hello  WildcatSC , you're not alone. We love using YNAP but this has been a big issue for us as well. For some reason over the past month or so, our banking accounts will just stop syncing. Every once in a while their team can get it back to normal but then it disconnects all over again! Then another round of sending a message that it doesn't work and waiting for another week or so to get fixed. I hope they can get this bug worked out. Frustrating :(

  • Last transaction that has synced with my bank account was on 3/2/18... non of my transactions over the last 7 days will import.  This happens a lot and is very frustrating.

I miss the downloaded version that was installed on my desktop, no subscription, I updated as I went so it was always up to date, multiple months side by side and more report options!  What's the point of syncing with a bank account if it's always days behind?

This needs to be fixed or after all this time I'll find something else to use.

i stopped using auto import shortly after I started using YNAB web. I have been using manual import of my transactions to a Microsoft Money “.ofx” format file that I drag and drop to the web YNAB screen.  I have NO problems with the import.

  • These are the kinds of issues I left Quicken for. It's also frustrating that just because the issue is reassigned to another category the issue is "answered". After 7 days, there should be a response posted here! Again, same thing with Quicken.

  • Every piece of financial software I've used has these issues.  Here we are well into the 21st century and there isn't a standardized method of secure authentication and financial data transmission.  Even worse, we don't have jet packs or flying cars yet either.  I just manually import to save myself the aggravation.  In the time it takes me to try to get YNAB to fail at auto-importing, I can log in to all of my accounts and download transaction files.  I would get pissed off and complain, but what's the point?  It's not like I can take my marbles and move to another platform because they all have the same limitation.

  • Interesting. I have not been able to import any of my transactions since the first setup of the accounts last week. I never had any problems when I used mint. This may be a deal breaker for me. I am still taking advantage of the trail period...

I share your frustration. The only way I can import to to disconnect and reconnect each time I need to import. And then sometimes that doesn’t work and I have to delete the account and set it up again. Last week that didn’t even work until the next day. Sad...

Well, I just spoke with support - they are looking into the issue with my bank. It may be up to two weeks to resolve. They will extend my trail a few weeks for my inconvenience.  I really like the methodology of how they do budgeting, and the software is laid out really good, not please at all with the sync of transactions though - never had this problem with Mint. three day delay to get transactions is not very acceptableto me...

  • Same problem. This thread is a year old and YNAB is still having this issue. As of today (7 Jul 19), my accounts haven't been syncing for 6 days--but the status states that it updated 40 minutes ago. Has anyone found a fix? (I did not have this issue with my previous platform.)

    • Hi Coral Koala !

Sorry for the confusion! This issue was resolved a year ago, so current sync issues are unrelated to the cause that was listed here. When you have a moment, can you let me know which bank you're having trouble with? I'd be more than happy to take a closer look at your accounts to see what's going on! :)

Faness It's solved. I unlinked all my accounts and re-linked them. This seemed to force YNAB to update my account info. Thanks.
