Transactions imported to wrong credit card - best way to fix?

I have two Chase cards and for about a week they were not importing despite being "connected" I just removed the connection and then reinstalled it and the missing connections imported - but onto the wrong card. Is there an easy fix for this? There are 23 transactions and so I'm really hoping to avoid doing it manually one by one.

  • Do you have the correct cards connected to the correct accounts?  That is the only way I can think of that it could import to the wrong card.

  • I have done nothing different that I'm aware of - and until last week, these two Chase cards always imported correctly. In any case, I need to resolve this ASAP! I now have dozens of transactions on the wrong card - more just imported today.

      Not sure how to fix the connection thing.  Someone else will be able to guide you on that.

      For moving transactions from one account to another:  Select the entries you want to move. Click on the Edit button, Move to Account. Select the account. Enter.

      HappyDance Thank you! I just figured that out myself - and in the process, discovered that the transactions aren't only going to the wrong card, they are also importing in duplicate. I guess the good news is that I have way more $$ left this month than I thought! 😂

      Faness So I disconnected then reconnected Chase - and everything downloaded in duplicate and to the wrong accounts. I went back in and relinked the cards and recategorized everything - and the same transactions downloaded a THIRD time, and I cross-checked then deleted them yet again. Finally I thought I'd got things sorted. And now . . . once again, Chase will not connect at all.  : (

  • yma namtug Coincidentally, I'm having issues with transactions not importing and/or importing incorrectly from my two Fidelity Credit Cards.  Payments going into the wrong cards and other transactions not downloading at all.

      Victor Rodriguez Sounds like your issues are very similar to mine - it's  super frustrating; I've tried various things as instructed, but have yet to get a resolution.

  • When strange things happens in my budget, it's normally because of over spending somewhere.  Are any of your categories over spent and red?  Believe if you find and correct these, things will sort themselves out.  That has been my experience.

  • No, that is not the case here. It is a problem with imports going to the wrong card and multiple downloads of the same transaction. I have (again) removed and relinked the cards, as YNAB support instructed, and hopefully that will fix things. As I understand it, YNAB is switching import partner, so there may be glitches related to that.

    • yma namtug We currently have 3 different import partners and we're able to switch users to our newest import partner if they're having trouble with the older ones. This is done individually and shouldn't cause more issues, but we'll get to the bottom of things! :)
