PC Financial MasterCard unable to connect

This week PC Financial updated their website.  At the time, I was also asked to update my password to include a special character.  Since this event I have been unable to sync my data with YNAB, with the statement "We're having trouble connecting to this financial institution."  I have tried the troubleshooting steps, and have tried using both my new and old password.   Are other PCF users having this problem?

  • Hello, can you also please me more information on PC Financial connection? I am also not able to connect.  Also, still having problems with RBC.

     

    Connection stability is my main frustration... I really like YNAB, but these recurring connection problems are really leading me to find alternative solutions. Manual input and/or importing files is really not a long term solution.

    • Hi Boffyflow ! You're currently connected with our latest import partner, and they're now running into issues with PC Financial as well. They've enabled a new MFA process, that's the culprit behind the issue. We're working on making those adjustments with our import partner, but it may take some time to resolve.

      I'm sorry you're frustrated! There are many moving parts with direct import and any little (or big!) change from the banks can cause disruptions in the connection. Some banks are more ‘direct import friendly' than others, so it makes for a rocky road sometimes. 

      That said, we are actively working to make this less of a pain point for users (and for us too, since we're all YNABers ourselves!). We're constantly exploring options with existing and new data providers to help with that. Direct import is something we do want to provide as a dependable feature!

  • I am also having this issue. It started in July for me.

    Just to be specific about my issue: It says my credentials are incorrect and to attempt to log into PC Financial's site. I do and there are no issues there with my login credentials.

      I’m afraid I don’t have the best news to deliver, our Direct Import partner has hit an impassable roadblock when fixing the issue with PC Financial.

      It's possible they will be able to re-establish integration in the future (we hope they will!), but we aren't able to guarantee if or when that might happen.

      I know this isn’t the news you were hoping for. It's certainly not news we enjoy sharing, either. We know what a big deciding factor Direct Import plays when it comes to subscribing (or continuing to subscribe) and very much dislike letting you down.

      If you haven’t already, I do hope you'll give File-Based Importing in the web app a try! This allows you to get transactions entered in bulk in one of two ways:

      1. The handy dandy drag and drop method. 

      2. Selecting “All Accounts” and hitting Import from there.

      And entering transactions is easier and faster if you use Scheduled Transactions for recurring expenses (rent and utility bills) and Mobile Apps for recording spending on-the-go (gas and groceries).

    I'm jan1ce and I'm new to this forum and am just about to purchase YNAB to do my budgeting.  I've reviewed all the available apps and this is the one chose. 

    I'm responding to this tread because I'm wondering if one these import options you guys have discussed here (I've read the entire thread) will allow me to export from QuickBooks (Enterprise) desktop version to this app.  I do all my accounting in QBs and keep very up to date records but I'd like to export my transactions not from my bank but from QBs directly to this YNAB app and use it in place of the budget module in QB desktop since I'm really a fan of the budgeting app.  

    (And I have no interest in using QB Online, I familiar with that program and it truly does not meet my needs, so I've ruled that out just in case anyone want to suggest is)

    What I'm looking for is a quality mobile budget and financial planning app like YNAB that will accept QuickBooks exports.  If this is at all feasible what would be the most efficient protocol /method of exporting QB data into YNAB.  Let me know.  Thanks!

    • Hi Pink Hammer ! Welcome ! YNAB can import the following formats: QFX, OFX, QIF and, as a last resort, CSV files. You can import the transaction data, but you will need to re-categorize your transactions. Here's a little more information on how File-Based Importing works. Let me know if you have any questions at all!

  • PC Financial is a mess. Can't even download transactions from the website for the last 2 weeks. I just cancelled PC Financial and switched credit cards, not worth waiting for them to sort it out.

      Hot Pink Deer we use scotia momentum visa. We earned almost $800 cash back our first year by buying groceries with it at PC stores. We still use the optimum program but of course you have to be more strategic to earn points but I gave up on PC Mastercard and YNAB working

      I took a look and I see you reached out to support via email, so you're already on our notification list. The original issue here was resolved some time back, but we're not seeing a new issue. Our import partner recently made progress on this connection, but we're waiting for confirmation before considering it resolved. They're still working on it and we're keeping our fingers crossed it's resolved soon!
