Cleaning cloths

E-cloth vs Grant's

I ordered 1 new e-cloth, general purpose, for $7 from Amazon. My wife purchased a 4 pack of Grant's microfiber from Harbor Freight for $3. E-cloths claim to wash much of the household surfaces without any cleaning products, just water. They are 80% polyester, 20% polyamide. Grants doesn't make that claim, but they are 85% polyester, 15% polyamide.  I ran both cloths under water and rung them out extremely well. Then I cleaned 3 tricky surfaces. Each time I also dried the surface with a dry Grant's cloth. Our LCD monitor screens were first. Each turned out like new with no streaks! Much better results than special monitor cleaning wipes or sprays. Next was bathroom mirrors with equally good results. Last was stainless steel appliances with excellent results again. Overall, I did not see any difference between the two cloths. Maybe there's a difference in how long each will last, but I'm not going to wash each like 300 times just to find out. For the price, Grant's my choice and good buy Windex glass cleaner, monitor cleaner, and stainless steel cleaner!

  • Currently I have some Norwex cloths which are exorbitantly more expensive but looks like may not be necessary. They only have 1-2 year warranties so maybe once these are spent I will go with the other brand haha

    • Sierra Ladnier A cleaning cloth with a 1-2 year warranty?! Is it valid even if I clean up something really gross?

Sierra Ladnier Give it a try!

  • Here I'm old school and using microfiber towels purchased in 2009 from the auto section of Target and old prefold diapers.  No warranty but they do seem to wear like iron.
