Just wanted to say Thanks YNAB!

Used YNAB to manage DD1's finances while she was away at boot camp. Handed her a greeting card while we were there last week for her graduation informing her of all that I managed to do with her money while she was gone. The look on her face was PRICELESS! She had been living paycheck to paycheck and ignoring some debts we didn't know she hadn't paid, but now...

Hospital collections account #1 $250 - PAID

Hospital collections account #2 $250 - PAID

Anesthesia collections account $750 - PAID

Balance of Student loan appx $1200 - PAID

$250 Emergency fund started, and had enough money in her account to pay all her April bills even though it was only 3/28 AND that was without counting the paycheck she received that day. Now THAT is a good graduation gift. She finished boot camp physically fit and fiscally fit with 10% going into her thrift plan too!

Important to note... none of this was with our money. Every penny was earned by her and we agreed on how it would be spent before she ever left for the military. She decided it was time to clean up her act and wondered just how much could be achieved in the 8 weeks of boot camp if she wasn't able to spend a single cent.

She was so excited  by the ease of allocating her paychecks the YNAB way that she signed up for her own YNAB account and is doing it on her own now! So proud of her <3

adriana01 felt it was my one last shot to teach her some solid financial principals as she heads out into the adult world! She's 21 but was still living with us up until this military notion took hold. I think she's finally on the right track. :-)
