Scheduling paychecks?

Does it make sense to set up a scheduled transaction for income, and then adjust it with the actual income amount on payday?

I’d kinda like to see the paycheck in my list of upcoming scheduled transactions so that I can see what I absolutely need to budget for before the next paycheck arrives, and what I can wait to budget for till the next paycheck if things are tight.

  • Yes, it's totally fine to do this. Since future transactions don't affect your budget, there's no danger of budget money you don't have, as long as you're sure the recurring transaction isn't going to come in BEFORE your actual paycheck. (Or, if it does, don't approve the transaction until your paycheck hits your checking account.)
