Last CC paid off!! Looking for celebration.... and input

I did it! Started YNAB just over a year ago and followed all the recommendations. Today I found $$ to pay down to the very final penny. The CC that had leftover amounts from long ago purchases is no more!

Tomorrow I'll be eating fish & chips with a pint or 2 of Guinness to celebrate - - with money that's sitting in my "dining out" budget. I'm loving YNAB and I'm loving debt freedom. I'm so grateful to have the tools and the training to continue budgeting instead of slipping into old unhealthy habits.

So .... now do I archive the CC in YNAB? This is a first for me in YNAB budgeting. What happens if click "close account" in the budget tool?

  • That's AWESOME. 🎉

When you close the account, it will move to the CLOSED section at the bottom of your list of accounts. You'll also need to hide the Credit Card Payment category separately. Both of them will stay hidden away where you can forget they ever existed, except when you want to celebrate again! (Or use the card again, of course.)

    • Matthew  Done! Felt good to remove the whole expense category. Now, to focus on that SAVINGS category..... :)
