Help!

I got a payment from someone for $1000, I categorized it as inflow to be budgeted but the to be budgeted did not increase, i then tried to move it to savings category and i could see that increase by 1000, i then thought ok i will move the money from that category to to be budgeted and it should be fine but now i have lost $1000 from my savings category and its not updated in my to be budgeted. The undo button is also not doing much.

Can someone help on why would this be happening?

  • Click forward to the furthest month you have budgeted. You will see an overbudget TBB there. Fix that first, and then you will see the $1000 inflow in this month.

@Aquamarine Commander  sorry, I forgot to mention that  you also have to have May be $1000 less than what it is now. If you fixed it to zero, you’ve included the new $1000 in your May and April budgets, so you won’t see it in March. You’ve already “used” it in your future budgets.

Truly, best practice if you are hoping for new income to show up in the current month, you probably shouldn’t be budgeting ahead to begin with. Budget to zero in March, and if you have money you want to use for April and May, put it in an “income for next month” category in March.

Aquamarine Commander It wasn't triggered by the inflow. It was already there. You just weren't aware of it until the inflow didn't show up in your TBB when you expected it.

Overbudgeting just means you've put more money into your categories than you have. There isn't any one category that is responsible for being overbudgeted.
