Uncleared Balance issue

I'm an experienced user but just ran into this issue.

I have $2001.73 showing as Uncleared Balance. When I sort by uncleared transactions, I only have three that total $601.80. I do not have any hidden categories.  A search  of the difference of $1399.93 doesn't bring up anything. I have reconciled all my accounts and everything is accounted for. Any thoughts?

The only thing I have done different in the last month is adding two loan categories (Auto and Home). They both look correct and neither match to that difference.

check for date filters. Also, you might want to look through individual accounts instead of all accounts.

    • nolesrule Thanks for the quick response. No date filters are in place. I did go through each account separately and reconciled each one and all transactions except the three are accounted for.

Spring Green Elk That's all I got. I suggest you contact [email protected] for their famed white glove support.

  • As a clarification, I reconciled all of my budget accounts. The three transactions in my screenshot that are not reconciled are tracking accounts, which I reconcile at the end of the month.

    • Hey Spring Green Elk ! Are you using the Toolkit by chance? I'd suggest turning it off to see if anything changes. This does look odd, and I see you've sorted by Cleared transactions already. A few suggestions (since you've tried a few above):

      • Toggle the "C" column, to make sure a secondary sort isn't at play
      • Try searching in All Accounts for "Is: Uncleared"

If neither helps uncover the difference, it would help for our Support team to look closer at your budget. I've sent you an email!

    • Nicole Thank you. Great suggestions. I am using Toolkit and turned that off. I toggled the C column and only the same three appear. I searched using "Is: Uncleared" and only the three appear. I'll reply to your email to have Support take a look at my budget. Thanks!

  • I believe I have cause of the issue.

After paying the monthly payment for one of my loans (Mortgage) the mortgage amount has cleared and the loan feature provides an Estimated Interest Charge and the Escrow Held as informational. Those two charges add up to $1399.93 for my mortgage. That informational  breakout is added to All Accounts - Unpaid Balance. I don't believe that is the desired behavior.

    • Spring Green Elk Ugh - should read "That informational breakout is added to All Accounts - Uncleared Balance."

    • Spring Green Elk Can you give this a try?

To reconcile the transactions associated with your Loan Accounts in the All Accounts tab,  update the balance of your loan accounts. Use the "Update Balance" button in the upper right-hand corner of the loan page, enter the current balance, and it will work the same as reconciling in locking in those transactions on the All Accounts page.

If you're still seeing a discrepancy after doing that, we'd welcome a Bug Report!

    • Marisa Thanks Marisa. I just checked my actual balance at the mortgage site and then clicked on "Update Balance" on the loan page, The number matched and so I clicked "Yes". The window came back stating I was reconciled. Unfortunately the Uncleared Balance still contains the $1399.93. I will file a bug report. Thank you.

    • Spring Green Elk Thanks for doing that - it doesn't look like you're alone with this behavior, but we don't have a lot of reports, so this will be helpful.

Marisa Allow us to edit the interest charges and access the ledger in a better way than all accounts and you'll get a hell of a lot more beta testers for your loan feature. I tried it and bailed pretty fast and I know many others did too.

SgtBatten it was already beta tested. This is the release version. 🤣
