What about data recovery? Has anyone had experience?
Coming from desktop tool I had auto backups, like Word or Excel, if I messed something up or crashed, I could find a recovery file, hopefully. I'm thinking, what if I wanted to go to budget settings but hit Fresh Start instead, then I didn't read the next window (if there is one because I'm not trying it for this post) and kept going then after giving the screen my attention again I wiped everything out. Who would I call? Is YNAB able to go back in time with your data, like set me back to yesterday at 1pm? Thanks!

There is an “Undo” option in the desktop interface but I don’t think it’s in the mobile app. I’ve always thought a “snapshot” or “rollback” feature would be handy also. With budgeting and technology in general, humans are apt to make mistakes so it would be wise to allow resetting things in case of a disaster. Countless times I’ve moved money from one category to another and then later forgot how, when, and why I did it. Same for deleting categories which I can’t seem to remember *not* to do (it’s better to hide them). That being said, I have to be super careful when I’m using the app and I triple-check my actual account balances on a routine basis to make sure I didn’t goof something up. Finally, I do a fresh start about three times a year just to be sure everything is accurate.

Unfortunately no, there is no rollback option. You can export your data so you have a manual backup, though I rarely think to do that.
I had an issue a year or two ago when the system screwed up all my numbers and they told me there was absolutely no way it could be rolled back - which is pretty amazing, and frankly rather scary.
I just live with it, but know that it could go at anytime which is a little worrying.

Hi Ben K. !
Balance is correct, there is no rollback option. If you accidentally delete a budget we have the power to restore it, but only to the last auto-save (which is usually just moments before the deletion). When you have a moment, would you mind letting our development team know you'd like to see a rollback option by submitting a Feature Request?
