YNAB Spending Report

When I drill down in the spending report to see everything in a category, I only see the first few characters of the Payee and the memo.  This doesn't really help me.  Is there a way to print a spending report which includes the full payee and memo? I am doing it on laptop so not limited by mobile app.

  • Maybe that's all included in the CSV Export?

  • Thanks- appreciate your quick response and will do the CSV export.

Was hoping for a quicker solution. Seems unbelievable that you can get a report but most of the info in the relevant fields is hidden.  I would have been ok taking a screenshot but not being able to see the needed info is frustrating.

    • Hi chrisp !

Where are you seeing those payees cut off? I took a look at my Spending report and when I click on a certain category, the payee gives at least 10 characters before trailing off. Are you seeing less than that?

If you click on the transaction, it will take you to the transaction in the register so you can see the full entry, but I know that's a bit of an extra step (and takes you out of the report).

Faness Ten characters is insufficient to get the detail I needed.

    • chrisp If you hover over the Payee on the report, you'll be able to see a tooltip with the full Payee or Memo. Though that won't do much for the screenshot of multiple entries.

If you have a moment, would you mind submitting a Feature Request to let our product team know you'd like to see more characters visible there? And that you'd like to a more printing/export friendly option.

Since you're looking for all transactions in a specific category, here’s what you can do:

      • Go to All Accounts.
      • Type the category in the search box. (You can even add multiple criteria!)
      • Use the filter "Last Year", or choose your date range.
      • Check the select-all checkbox to select all the transactions.
      • You'll see a Selected Total in the upper right corner.

With the same date range as your report, that Selected Total number would match the Spending report. I know you're looking for something more streamlined, but that might get you the information you need in the meantime!
