Reconciling credit card statements on YNAB?

I am new to YNAB and have been entering in my bills/expenses.  I realized that even though I have linked my bank account, it's tough to reconcile with the budget because many of my bills and almost all my discretionary spending is done on the credit card whereby we accrue miles.  We need that set up to help reduce travel expenses for our family, as all extended family lives elsewhere and obtaining a free ticket helps us.  Is there a way to link the credit card account to YNAB so that it can be reconciled with the budget items or do I have to do it manually?

  • Hi Snowy Owl !

If your bank is supported, you should be able to set up direct import for your Credit Card just like you did for the Checking account.

To add accounts in YNAB, click Add Account in the sidebar and follow the prompts. You'll have the option to link to your bank for direct import, or enter your current bank balance. when asked, select Credit Card as the account type to properly set up that new account.

We also have instructions on how to add accounts in our Help Docs. To learn more about how credit cards work in YNAB, take a look at our Quick Start Guide to Credit Cards and consider taking our Master Credit Cards with your Budget workshop!
