Open Banking API

The UK Banking establishment began opening up their Open Banking API on the 13th January this year, Allowing 3rd party's access to bank account information.

 

What is the time frame for YNAB to take advantage of this facility?

      We hear you and we understand why you find this feature important. We are listening to these requests and we're investigating alternatives to improve the direct import experience. However, we'll need time to both find a solution and take the steps to implement it. With this in mind, support for international direct import isn't in our near future. We'll continue to work towards improvement, but it will take us a while.

    •  Faness It's surely not for the lack of options, even less if you count just the ones already provided in this forum that would replace all your ("beautiful") current solutions with a single one. It's hard that you expected this argument to be swallowed

    • Harry Knoener We tried adding more direct import partners as a solution in the past - that's how we went from one import partner to three. However, expanding our number of import partners hasn't fixed the issue, so we're investigating the best way to move forward. We'll continue to look into this but we've learned the obvious solution isn't always the best.

  • Well over a year since this question was asked and marked as answered, for some reason - why are YNAB not moving to a more competent import partner? Or better, doing it themselves?

    Users are crying out for this functionality and yet you keep ignoring them, yet happily taking their money.
