Web app: which category is overspent?

May be missing this...but on the mobile app, I like the feature that shows at the top of the screen when you are overspent in a category that tells you in WHICH category you are overspent. Very easy to find the problem and fix.

But in the browser app, there is just a little orange box that says the account is overspent, and I have to go hunting in the budget list for what that is.

Am I missing this,  or can this be added as a feature?

  • Hi Orange Falcon !

You're right! Currently, that banner at the top that indiactes how many categories are overspent is only available in the mobile app. In the web app, you have to scroll through your categories to see which ones are overspent.

I'll send this along as a feature request to our development team so that they know you'd like to see this feature brought to the web app.

If there's anything else you'd like for me to pass along, please don't hesitate to let me know! :)

  • Hi Faness curious if you were able to get any traction on this featuring being developed for the website? I have the same issue/request. Thank you!

    • Hi Heather M ! Thanks for reaching out. This article goes into a little more detail about the colors and icons that can help identify overspending. I understand how a banner would make that easier to find!

We've changed our process a little since the last reply. If you have a moment, would you mind submitting a Feature Request to our product team?

As we make these decisions, we consider how many users would benefit from this, what impact it might have on other features we have in development, and most importantly how it lines up with the YNAB method.
