Job Ideas for the Month of October
So I'm in a little bit of a situation. My boss told me this week that everyone in the office will be employed through September but we will all be out of work for the month of October (so I guess we're all going on a kind of work break???) until our contracts start up again. Personally, I have the finances to get through the month of October but I don't want to stop working since I've already been unemployed for the month of April and May and I feel like I've already taken a break this year.
Do you guys have any ideas of what I could do for the month of October to keep me busy until my next contract starts? I'm not looking to replace my income but how I can make a few dollars while I'm waiting for my contract to start again. I don't have a defined date yet of when the work break will take place but I've been told the break could be between one week all the way through the entire month.
I'm up for doing anything but if anyone has an idea for me I would really appreciate it. Off the wall would be awesome but if someone says "babysit every Friday night" I'll look into that too. 😂
Thanks everyone! You all have such good ideas about money and finance that I wanted to ask just in case someone had a crazy idea that I would be willing to try!
Babysitting as you mention, dog walking ( rover.com ), shopping/driving for a place like Shipt or Instacart. Does your city have Randstad or Kelly Services staffing agencies for temp work? Tutoring at one of those test prep places.

Might have a major move, so packing up the house my parents have lived in for 25+ years, then there is the major cleaning that has to happen when empty.
Not sure what is on the island, but up until my accident I was never unemployed longer than 2 days. Fast food, Security Work, temp agencies, even worked construction and as a lumper.
With everyone having a computer or a smartphone nowadays, typing term papers or resumes is kind of out.
I started mowing lawns when I was 8 years old, with moves and such, sold or turned over 4 thriving businesses by the time I turned 18.

I've gotten temporary work in October working at a farm that did lots of Halloween/fall themed activities for the month. My tasks included scooping up poop in the petting zoo, yelling a children to follow the rules, and firing a pumpkin cannon, so it had its ups and downs. Not sure what its like where you live (this was in Southern California, so not the most seasonal place in the world) but you might be able to find temporary seasonal work if you scour Craigslist.
