YNAB not displaying properly

I have used Toolkit for YNAB and now it has completely messed up how YNAB is displayed. I understand that Toolkit is completely separate from YNAB but I am asking for assistance. I have tried to disable Toolkit and it makes no difference in how YNAB displays. I have tried to post on Tookkit but am unable to. Toolkit at this point is a complete disaster. Does anyone have a suggestion how I can get Toolkit out of my life?

  • I would like to add that the main problem I am seeing is that the left hand pane in YNAB is very narrow and I can barely see any of it. Again, I have disabled Toolkit and reloaded YNAB and this problem persists.

      FirIslander If you have disabled the Toolkit, the problem isn't with the Toolkit. Maybe contact YNAB support and/or provide a screenshot of what you're seeing.

  • Step 1: Check if the problem happens for you in other browsers. If you're using Chrome, check in Firefox or vice versa.

    Step 2: Clear your cache and cookies from your browser. If Toolkit did mess up the way YNAB displays for you then maybe your browser is displaying a cached version of the site. Clearing your cache will force a refreshed display of the site and discard anything left over from Toolkit.

  • Hey FirIslander ! If you try a private browser window, do you still see the issue? Recent releases have had an impact on Toolkit features, and they're pretty great about ironing those out.

    If you've disabled the Toolkit, and still see the issue in a private window—can you submit a Bug Report here? Our bugs team can jump in and help figure out what's going on!

    • Nicole Hi. I use Firefox 78.0.2 on a Mac. Toolkit is disabled, my cache and cookies are cleared, YNAB will only display a very thin portion of the left hand pane. A private window in Firefox displays the same way. YNAB on my Mac using Firefox does not work correctly. YNAB works correctly in Safari 12.0.3. I can only assume at this point that YNAB does not display correctly in Firefox. Perhaps YNAB could look into this if I am not the only one with this problem. Until it is fixed (if ever or if it is just my machine) I will use Safari for YNAB.

      FirIslander I have no issue in chrome or firefox without the toolkit.  Have you received the update with the adjustable/collapsible left side?  I have not so not sure if this could be impacting you.

    • Herman Hi. What update are you referring to? Is this from Toolkit? If so, which function on their site is it? I deleted all my selections and don't remember which one affects the adjustability of the left pane. Thanks for your help.

      FirIslander YNAB announced they were rolling out an update that allows some kind of adjustment to that left side account section.

    • FirIslander We're in the process of rolling out a collapsible sidebar and themes. There will be an icon in the bottom left corner to expand or retract the left column. I double checked that isn't enabled for your account just yet (but soon), so it won't be a factor here. Unless you have multiple YNAB accounts! 😉

      When you have a moment, can you submit Bug Report? I'm not seeing similar reports, but I agree it's something we'll want to investigate. That form helps gather a few details for our bugs team!
